Roses

Life is like a rose, endless layers, overlapping and underlapping to create a thing of such immense beauty it's to hard to ignore. Like life roses come in all colors, black, white, purple, green etc. You know you can get a rose in every color but blue? Boy I hope for every ones sake aliens ain't blue.

segregation

The point of segregation is to separate but that's not really what it ended up doing. Sure the whites and blacks were apart but by treating all the blacks the same (that is to say really really bad) the white men brought us together.  In my small Mississippi town we all felt like family. Us dark skins had to stick together or we'd really have nothing, not even a friend. So in the end after all the whites work, to brake us, to bring us down, in the end they gave us our best weapon yet...family, friends, love.

Field hands

Many people think that having migrant workers is racism. Maybe they're right but I don't think so. Sad as it is it's true immigrants really can't do much in our country till they get well established and until then they need money right? True I could hire a native to tend the fields but there's plenty of jobs for them. I would rather hire someone that needs the job. Sure it doesn't pay as well as some but it's my hope that after a wile of getting used to our beautiful little part of the earth they will move on, out of the fields and into life. So as I said before I don't think of it as racism just...helping a body along.

Shool Bus and Sweet Revenge

Have you ever been so mad you would do ANYTHING to get your way? Sometimes when I'm remanising about the good 'ol days some a the bad slip in through the cracks. This piticular story only came to my mind as a consaquence of the bad slipping through. I was walking my grandauter to her school bus when I thought of all the
times the bus, filled with warm cozy kids, passed, putting anger in my family's eyes.
Then I thought of a school bus sitting in a ditch.
It was Stacey's idea. 'Cores no 'matter how it pains me to addmit it all the good ideas were his. Anyway it was during the rainy season and we all figured rain washes stuff away right? Well if the rain can do it so can we. All us kids went 'round to the place the bus had kept knoking us off the rode and we started digging, and digging , and digging. so after all that digging we waited. And befor you know it, the bus was thig deep in mud, as were all the cozy 'lil kids.
It would have only been a matter of time anyway with all the mud you could say we were just giving mother nature an extra 'lil push. ;)

Better

When I was but a girl myself I went strait up to my mama and I said, ''Mama, why do all them fancey white people think they so much better 'dan us black folk?'' Well my mama she looks strait at me and she say real slow, 'caus every body got to go thinken they better 'dan someboy.'' For the whole rest a the day 'dat right there was what I was thinkin of aNd I'm still thinkin. After all this time I've finaly got myself an answer, or at least somthin resembling one, mabye it wasn't only white people. There just the one that got to say somethin 'bout it. Take T.J for example, he liked to think hes better then some a us right? Dats why he went with 'dem two white boys in the first place right? Mabye we all want to be better then SOMEONE SOMEWHERE. Is that why I did what I did to Lillian Jean?
Boy thouts like thuis can keepa body up some time.
